Subtitled “musical magazine”, it dedicates its pages to the dissemination of popular songs, dances and zarzuelas in fashion and by the most popular and successful world-wide masters. It includes biographies of artists and authors, starting with that of Raquel Meller, where there are opinions by María Guerrero, Jacinto Benavente, Manuel Machado or Gregorio Martínez Sierra, among others. With literary articles on music, the history of the cuplé, news and information on the world of variety. The texts are accompanied by drawings or photographs, mainly portraits of artists. With illustrated covers and the four central pages dedicated to scores and lyrics of tonadillas or cuplés for singing and piano. Edited by the Musical Company Fémina, its director was Julio Gómez, who would later be replaced by A. Reyes Moreno, its most usual signature, and its editorial secretary, Ángel H. Lorenzo. It appeared every ten days (on the 5th, 15th and 25th of each month), then became monthly and finally, irregularly. It was not published in July and August 1922. Issue 9 is a special issue dedicated to cante jondo, which reports on the festival held in Granada at the initiative of Falla and the Machado brothers.
